Volunteers are an important part of our Hospice care team. Volunteers who spend time with our hospice patients, do so by providing companionship. Each volunteer will be assigned to a patient and visit that patient on a regular basis. As a volunteer, you'll be on service a few hours each month for a minimum of one year. Our program offers comprehensive training, flexible volunteer hours, and on-going support, coaching and education for our valued volunteers. Hospice volunteers are very important to both the patient and the patient's family. For more information, please call Lisa, volunteer coordinator, at 402-690-0327.
Our nursing staff is available to conduct free nursing clinics at Omaha senior retirement homes and senior community centers. Our registered nurses are available for consultation during these clinics at no cost to the facility or the resident. For more information, call Kendra at (402) 390-2492.
Compassionate Care Hospice was founded upon the principle that care extends beyond the surface of physical needs. At the core of each of our patients is a uniqueness that make them who they are. As a family owned and operated company it gives us the time we need to truly get to know every patient and discover what is important to them, what they hope for and how they want to live the rest of their life. We focus on giving patients options of how to live with an advanced illness. How to live their way. Meeting these needs is how quality of life can reach its full potential. At Compassionate Care Hospice we embody the spirit of caring.
Our care is patient and family centered. That means that your loved one is at the core of our support strategy. Our priorities are your comfort and peace. And we believe that this resonates throughout the family when your wants and needs are met.
Our team includes:
Spiritual counselors for emotional support
Nurses skilled in pain management
Hospice aides who asset with personal care
Social workers to meet needs of the family
Hospice volunteers trained for compassionate companionship
Our care is focused on helping you and your loved one enhance the quality of life rather the pursing aggressive treatments. We believe that a focus on living and an eagerness to embrace the special moments that make life worth living are key.
To put it simply, hospice is about quality of life and dignity. It focuses on dignity, comfort and support on all levels. Our priority is your happiness.
A Duke study shows patients live longer with Hospice Care:
Hospice care lets patients and their families make the most of the time they have together. In addition a Duke University study suggests that hospice increases not only the quality of that time, but the duration of it as well. The study showed that patients who received hospice care lived an average of 29 days longer than those who did not.
With our hospice team, you or your loved one will receive the most compassionate care at the end of life.
